Zucchini

Zucchini

Zucchini, as already noted, is an ordinary pumpkin with a bushy habit. It is one of the most prolific cucurbit plants. In good conditions, one plant can produce twenty or more kilograms of fruit. It is adapted to our climatic conditions, more resistant to unfavorable weather conditions than cucumbers. Growing it is easy. Around mid-May, after 2 seeds in one place, and after emergence the seedlings are interrupted, leaving one plant each, by applying a density of one to two plants per square meter. In order to obtain earlier and higher yields, zucchini is grown from seedlings prepared like a giant pumpkin or squash.; spacing required 80-100X80-100 cm.

As an extremely fertile plant, it must have good nutritional and moisture conditions. In these conditions, with systematic harvesting, it bears fruit from July to the first autumn frosts. It shows high resistance to diseases and does not require any special protection measures. Various varieties of zucchini are brought to Poland, as a rule, hybrid; it is not worth collecting seeds in this situation. The first Polish varieties of courgettes have been entered into the register and are currently undergoing verification tests.

Zucchini is used, i.e.. its fruits are not yet grown, very young, thin, dark green, length 10-12 cm, while they still have the perianth at the top. They are boiled with the skin, he eats raw, it turns sour like cucumbers. The grown fruits can also be used, which are kept very well.
