Patison

Patison

Patison is a variety of squash, with a hollow stem and large leaves inside. Reaches height in full vegetation 50-60 cm. The fruit is small, diameter 4-6 cm, it is light green in color, while it has grown up 10-15 cm and is mostly white; its shape resembles regular disks with radially arranged notches. The skin is delicate and it does not need to be peeled from the young fruit.

Patison requires abundant soil, permeable, airy, not acidified. We give manure in the fall, in an amount 30-50 kg in 10 m2, or in the spring, but then it must be well distributed. The manure dose is supplemented with mineral fertilizers in the amount: 20 dag saletrzaku, 30-40 dag superphosphate, 18%, 20-30 day 50% potassium sulfate – and 10 m2. We mainly use ammonium nitrate in two doses 10 day/10 m2. We sow the seeds on time 10-15 May. We use point sowing, po 2 seeds spaced 1-1,2 m in inter-rows and 0,6-1 m in a row. Patison bears fruit from the end of July to the end of September. Its fruits taste good, dietary and easy to digest. They contain phosphorus salts, calcium, magnesium, iron and some vitamins: A, B1, B2 i C. They are suitable for making marinades, you can also pick them up, as well as cook, stew with meat and other vegetables or make salads.
