CHOICE OF VARIETIES

Within each species of fruit trees and shrubs, there are many cultivars, e.g. are known about 10 thousand varieties of apple trees. Most of the varieties grown today were obtained by breeding, the basis of which is the crossing of such selected varieties, to combine their most valuable features. Then, in experimental plants, their value and suitability for various purposes are checked. The selection of fruit varieties for the needs of employee allotment and home gardens has been determined and approved for use by a letter of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Economy of 16 February 1983 year no. RSpo 4026/2/1/83, while 15 September 1984 In the year, a new selection of fruit plant varieties recommended for production orchards was established. On the basis of the above selections, a list of amateur plantings for workers' allotment and home gardens / with the recommended rootstock or insert /.

The selection of varieties of fruit plants recommended for production orchards includes three groups: A – basic, recommended for production orchards, B – complementary, for fruit processing,

with less production value, C – new varieties, stand out in research, but requiring further evaluation. A selection constructed in this way includes:

Apple trees – in group A were placed 14 varieties: 3 summer varieties – Close, Beautiful view, Jerseymac, 1 autumn variety – Lobo i 6 winter varieties – Mclntosh, Spartan, Cortland, Jonatan, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious oraz 4 late winter varieties – Bankruptcy, Boskoop, Boskoop red sports, Melrose, Idared. They are in gruie B: James Grieve, Normal Antonówka, Wealthy red sports, Landsberska in Boiken. They were in group C 3 new varieties – Delicatessen, Empire i Jonagold.

Pear trees – in group A they were 4 varieties: The favorite and her red sport, Bonkret Williams and the red sport of this variety: Lukasówka and the conference. In group B there is 6 varieties: Colorful Lipstick, Trewinka, Bera Hardego, Salisbury, A consort and a Parisian girl. In group C: Packham's triumph and General Leclerc.

Plum trees – in group A it is 5 varieties: Renkloda Uleną, Early Hungarian, Renkloda Althana, Stanley and Hungarian Ordinary. Included in group B 6 varieties: Ruth Gerstetter, Peach, Hungarian Łowicka, Hungarian Wangenheim, Hungarian Italian and Anna Spaeth. In group C: Fryga, Opal and the Hungarian Dąbrowicka.

Cherries – in group A it is 5 varieties: Rivan, Burlat, Late Sznajder, Bittner Red and Hedelfińska. Group B has 3 varieties: Riversa Early, Kunze and Lotek Trzebnicka. Only Merton Premier is in Group C.

Cherries – in group A they are 3 varieties: North Star, wine cellar 16 and Lutowka. In group B: Nefris and Kerezer.

Peaches – in group A they are 4 varieties: Kiev Early, Reliance, Redhaven i Velvet. In group B: May flower, Juicy, Royalvee, Success and the Rakoniewicka Seeder.

moral – in group A they are 3 varieties: Early Orange, Moorpark and Early Morden. In group B: Hungarian Early and Louise. In group C: Harkot, Reliable i Somo Nr 86/N/-2/.
