CHILDREN'S CORNER

Regardless of the playgrounds, built in allotment gardens, for young children, which we take with us to the plot, a special play area must be provided. These can be various types of play devices and equipment, giving maximum opportunities to "get over", develop dexterity, ensuring physical development, as well as – by its attractiveness – creating conditions for the child to engage in play. It can be, for example. blackboard for writing with chalk, made as a separate part on the wall of the gazebo, made of cement as smooth, easy-to-wash surface; blocks of wood, used to jump from one to the other, or thick concrete slabs for hopscotch”; tree trunks with branches, left from an old tree, or specially planted, smoothly peeled, standing or lying horizontally on the ground as equivalent. A swing or a dragonfly will be a more attractive device”.

For small children, it is worth making a sandbox. The most practical sandbox will be a sand-lime brick container (silicate) or made of crushed stone, mostly sandstone; as a last resort, it may be concrete. The wall thickness should be 20-25 cm, height above the ground approx 25 cm (without a board), the foundation has a depth 80-100 cm. A board for sitting and putting on "grandmothers"” – thickness 32-50 mm and width 35 cm – it is then screwed from above to the metal elements fixed in the wall. A second sitting board can be fitted from the inside; it should be narrower and attached to the wall lower than the previous one. The pit for the sandbox must be filled with sand to a depth of approx 80 cm. At its bottom you need to make an absorbent pit filled with rubble, and the bottom itself must have a slope towards the sump. It is worth tiling the area around the sandbox, so that you can easily pick up sand that has been spilled by children. Sandboxes can be of various shapes: round, rectangular, square. The design of the square sandbox is shown in the picture.
