PLACE OF REST

PLACE OF REST

The location of the gazebo on the plot is closely related to the place intended for relaxation. It should be located in the immediate vicinity of the gazebo, which is its natural base. It can serve it, depending on the plot user's design, to eat, rest, receiving guests. Depending on the intended use, various types of equipment and fittings are required. Sun loungers, hamaki, tables, utensils etc.. can be stored in the gazebo, from where they can be easily removed if necessary.

The gazebo and the place of rest should form a compositional whole, decorated with ornamental plants, blooming from early spring to late fall. The resting area should not be located on the south side, but from the east, southwest or west, in order to avoid too much sunlight, and thus unnecessary heating of objects and worse conditions for rest.

According to the Guidelines for the development and modernization of plots in permanent employee allotment gardens (issued by the National Council of the PZD on 6 January 1982 r.) the decorative and recreational accommodation consists of a flower bed located along the garden alley, flower beds along the alleys on the gazebo plot, the area around her, the lawn, rock garden, groups of ornamental plants, pergola, flower walls, trellises for climbing plants. The quarters built in this way should have an area of 60-100 m2.

The resting place itself should not exceed half of the quoted area. It may be separated by covers, especially from the neighbor's plot. Pergolas can be used for this purpose, trusses, planted with vines, or shrubs, planted a short distance away, co 1,5-2 m. They should be chosen this way, that they bloom at different times, so in early spring, like forsythia, small-leaved turtle, tonsil, then lilac, jasmine, quince and flowering in late summer: hydrangea, omażyn, tamarisk and firefly.

Using a larger fruit tree, in its shadow, you can assemble a table and benches made of thick boards on the bases – murkach, made of brick or stone. Additional places for sitting can sometimes consist of thick trunks with a diameter of the bench height (35-40 cm) located horizontally. The seat can also be made at a round table under an umbrella or under a thatched roof, simple materials are used to make them, like perches, boards and straw to cover (instead of straw, you can use shingle or boards nailed horizontally overlapping). A seat in a bay next to a path or next to a gazebo will look more discreet, integrated under the pergola. The pergola can also be an extension of the gazebo.

Expert in bricklaying, they can make a rest corner made of stone benches, landings and stairs. The right choice of pretty ones, well-burnt bricks or stones in combination with wooden elements and various plant species, e.g.. iglakami, can create nice, intimate atmosphere of social meetings and relaxation.
