Rozchodnik - Sedum

Rozchodnik - Sedum

The main advantages of these perennials are beautiful and durable foliage, an abundance of flowers (carpet) and low soil requirements.
There are several dozen species and varieties of sedum in cultivation, which are often not even similar to each other. They are very low among them, carpet, with fine leaves and small flowers and tall (do 60 cm), about big, fleshy leaves and stately inflorescences. The timing of flowering varies greatly, depending on the species - from June to September. The flowers are white, yellow, pink or red.
Sedum plants require a sunny location. They are perfect for covering larger surfaces instead of e.g.. grass. They can be successfully used as a permanent component of certain parts of flower beds.
Sedum breeding is extremely easy. Species that make up the turf carpet are reproduced by dividing, species that form stiffer shoots - by cuttings. The cuttings root very easily in dry sand or directly in the ground.

Rudbekia — Rudbeckia

It is a well-known and highly valued perennial, often grown as a cut flower. Among the many species encountered, only a few are worthy of dissemination. The new ones are very valuable, lower varieties of tall species, not requiring ties.
Plant height from 50 do 200 cm. Yellow flowers, orange and brown and red, often two-color. They bloom from July to September.
Rudbeckies should be planted in sufficiently moist and fertile soil, in sunny or slightly shaded locations.
Rudbeckie is most often reproduced by dividing and by cutting. Some species can be propagated from seed.

Golden spurge - Euphorbia polychroma

It is quite a rare plant, but it is one of the most valuable spring perennials. It grows to a height of 40-60 cm, creating a beautiful block of greenery in May. Flowers, appearing at the end of May or the beginning of June, they are tiny and very inconspicuous, but surrounded by numerous green and yellow, flower-like flower petals. As a result, the plant gives the impression of blooming profusely.
The spurge requires fertile and moderately moist soil, and sunny or semi-shaded locations.
It reproduces by dividing plants or by cuttings. Less valuable plants are obtained from seeds.

Japanese Anemone - Anemone japonica

The varieties of this species grow to a height of 40-150 cm. It blooms from August to October. The flowers are white, pink and red.
The nice foliage is of great value. It is an excellent perennial for cut flowers.
It reproduces by dividing strongly woody carp and from seeds. It should be planted in fertile soil, fairly humid and in slightly shaded places. Plant best in the fall. In the first two years, plants should be covered for winter.

Pyrethrum - Chrysanthemum

This genus includes several species that are quite different from each other. Most of the cultivated pyrethrums are the so-called. chrysanthemums, some of which are grown as seasonal bedding plants, and some are widely used in cut flower production, mainly in crops under glass. Other species - the so-called. margaritas or scallops.
Varieties of not very frost-resistant pyrethrum are propagated from cuttings cut from mother plants kept in greenhouses and these plants are treated as seasonal perennials. Lots of variations, Especially Korean species, it is completely frost-resistant and is more and more often used in bedding compositions. They can be multiplied by division. Plant height 40-80 cm. White flowers, yellow, Orange, pink, Red, brown and lilac. Flowering from mid-August to mid-November. They grow well and bloom profusely in sufficiently fertile and moist soil, they can tolerate slight shading. Species that are not very frost-resistant should be lightly covered in winter.
