Soil mixtures for the cultivation of syningia

Growing from seed. This type of cultivation is the most common. Plants bloom after 6 months after sowing. To obtain gloxinia blooming in May, seeds are sown in the first half of December, Sown in early January, they will bloom in June.

Boxes intended for sowing are filled with the previously steamed mixture A. Due to its small size (w 1 g is located 5000 do 6000 seeds) and the beneficial effect of light on germination, we scatter the seeds to the surface, press lightly and cover with glass. At temperatures above 25 °, the seeds germinate within two weeks. The further growth of the plants can take place at a slightly lower temperature, but always above 20 °. Seedlings should be slightly shaded during the hours of sunlight.

6-8 weeks after sowing, the seedlings are picked at their spacing 2 X 2 cm to the soil composition as for sowing (mixture A). After three to four weeks, when the plants begin to touch the leaves, we quilt them again at a 6X6 spacing (mixture B), and after the next 4-5 weeks we plant them into pots with a diameter of 8-9 cm. We use the richer land (mixture C.). We plant the plants lightly, not too tight. Properly cared for gloxinia grows quickly. The entire root ball should not be completely entangled with the roots. If the plants grow fast, they should be replanted twice more every three weeks: for the first time for pots with a diameter of 9-10 cm, and then for pots with a diameter of 11-12 cm, in which they will bloom. Depending on the size of the pots and plants, initially set it to 1 m of the table 80 pcs, next 36 pcs, and then 25 pcs, and finally we leave after 16 pcs.

For permanent beauty treatments, in addition to maintaining a temperature of 22 °, systematic watering and 2-3 times sprinkling of plants on sunny days. If the temperature cannot be maintained, it should be watered less frequently, so that the ground is only moderately moist.

Growing old rhizomes. With this method of cultivation, flowering plants can be obtained after 3 months after planting the rhizomes. Rhizomes, which after flowering of plants should be removed from pots and stored in peat at a temperature of 10-12 °, in February or January are planted after 60 pcs. for boxes filled with mixture B, he sets it on the table in the multiplier and waters it, moderately at first, and when they begin to take root - more abundantly. After 4-5 weeks, when the first leaves appear, plants are planted in pots 9-10 cm in diameter, we put it into a greenhouse with a temperature of 20-22 ° and set it after 30 pcs. and 1 m2 of the table shed with peat. After 5-6 weeks, the plants are transplanted one last time into pots with a diameter of 11-13 cm filled with C mix..

General care procedures are the same as for seed cultivation.
