GARDEN APPLIANCES

Allotment or backyard garden, as already noted, usually comes with multiple devices, the performance of which will depend on financial resources, available to the user of the garden, the needs and preferences of his family. We will discuss the individual elements of the basic garden equipment, giving sample solutions. The creativity of the owner of the garden will be of great importance here.

BOWER

Regulations of POD, sets out the rules, which must be followed when the gazebo is located on the plot. In particular, plot user, before proceeding with its permanent development in a new garden, should make a sketch (Project) its development with the exact location of devices and gazebos. This design should be submitted to the garden management for approval. According to the POD regulations, the minimum distance between the gazebo and the plot border should be 3 m, unless the development plan provides for other distances. The area of the gazebo, in the outline of external walls, cannot exceed:

– in gardens located within city limits – 20 m2, whereby it may have a terrace open to 6 m2,

– in gardens outside the city limits (suburban) – 35 m2 and additionally a terrace open to 9 m2.

When planning the construction of an arbor, the need for storage space should be taken into account, activities, what will be performed in it and to allocate appropriate places for it. These can be needs and activities, such as:

– storage of work clothes, rubber boots, tools, seeds, plant protection products, mineral fertilizers, harvest, etc.;

– food preparation, washing dishes, storage of food products and dishes;

– eating meals;

– rest, including sleeping;

– activities in the field of personal hygiene;

– entertainment, e.g. all kinds of games.

For storing clothes, shoes, bedding etc.. a wardrobe is indispensable, which can also be used for storing dishes. For tools, seeds, plant protection products and fertilizers a small storeroom is needed, the magazine is located so, to be accessed by an entrance from the outside; then there is no fear of contamination of the interior with the carried tools, collections or other materials stored there. In small gazebos, only a suitable place is allocated for these purposes.

Place of eating meals, its position and size depend on it, how many people it is to serve. It is essential too, whether it is to be used to eat products brought from home, or dinners prepared on the spot.

A place to lie down or sleep determines the distance between the plot and the house and the leisure mode, i.e.. if you want to arrange a place for just a momentary rest, or to spend all your free days, and even holidays. It cannot be forgotten, that the sleeping unit is quite large; a comfortable single-person couch has dimensions of 190x90 cm (minimum 190X80 cm). So that the couch does not take up too much space, it can be replaced with a fold-out shelf, and for the younger members of the family to pile them up, placing one above the other.

The place for washing depends on the fact that the garden is equipped with water and electricity. In some cases, especially in gazebos not adapted to overnight and longer stays, a water abstraction outside the gazebo must suffice. In gazebos intended for spending free days, and even leave, a part of the surface with the spray should be separated, sink and toilet.

Given the difficulty of storing fruit and vegetables in the basement of CO-heated houses, it is advisable to basement the gazebo. The size of the basement depends on the number of fruit trees and shrubs on the plot, selection of varieties and the amount of produced vegetables: the bigger the basement, the easier it is to host it, especially since it is also to be used for the storage of some perennials, e.g. dahlias, gladioli. The depth of the basement should be 1,75-2 m, a window for ventilation is required.

Before starting the construction of the gazebo, it is necessary to take into account its location, resulting from the garden development plan (these data are included in the technical documentation of the garden management), or the directive of the garden management and its position in relation to the parts of the world and the communication route. This location must be in accordance with the POD regulations. Then you need to prepare the right amount of materials, depending on whether only the foundations will be built to accommodate the purchased, ready-made gazebo, or to build a whole gazebo from scratch, the so-called. economically.
