Tomato part 2

In order to increase the early yield, especially under the foil, the flowering clusters are hormonized with a special preparation – Betoksonem, which is used diluted (1 teaspoon per 1 l soft water, unless a different concentration is indicated on the package). Fill the cup with the prepared solution and dip the flowering clusters into it. This treatment has to be repeated every time 4-5 days. It is mainly used, when the first and second cluster blooms. If we are observing, that tomatoes grow poorly and have light green or gray-green leaves, means, that they run out of nitrogen. Then sprinkle between the plants about 20 lie saletrzaku the do 30 dag of ammonium sulfate on 10 m2 and loosen the soil. In the second half of July, we only feed late varieties, high growing, in order to obtain more green fruit in September for preserves or to store after the last harvest.

Pick the fruit of the tomatoes when they are ripe. However, against heavy rain and when it is cool, In humid weather, pluck the already lit fruit, that they do not crack on the bushes and do not get stains as a result of infection with fungal diseases.

Tomato varieties differ in plant habit, the length of the growing season, size, the color and shape of the fruit and disease resistance. In terms of plant height, the varieties are divided into two groups: low, the so-called. dwarf self-terminating, and high. Dwarf varieties can be stiff-stemmed.

In the selection of varieties there are 4 dwarf varieties of stiff-stem tomatoes: Tempo – very early, fertile; spherical or slightly flattened fruit, uniformly red, without heels; the weight of the fruit 50-80 g; landmark – medium late, resistant to bad weather conditions, fertile; medium-sized fruit, fleshy, with a smooth surface, red; Gem – will meet, fertile, disease resistant; the fruit is smaller than the previous ones, smooth rind, medium fleshiness, red; Sycamore – variety introduced for selection in 1983 r. as an early one, evenly ripening; medium-large fruit, spherical and spherical-flattened, without heels, medium weight 70-100 g, brick-red tint, very fleshy.

There are four very early and five early varieties of flaccid dwarf varieties. The earliest is Alpha. It gives a very high yield, the plants are small and therefore need to be planted very densely – 40X30 cm. The fruit is smaller, red, medium fleshiness. Chord F, – very early, very fertile. Medium-sized fruit, brick-red color, medium fleshiness. Soon F, – early, medium size, red, bears fruit with high fleshiness. Answer – also early, fertile. It binds the fruit even at a lower temperature. The fruits are medium in size, red, very fleshy.

They are in the group of early varieties: New Yorker – characterized by the uniform ripening of the fruit; large fruit, flat spherical, with pronounced ribs, fleshy, tasty, uniformly colored, without heels; jump – fertile, with fruit resistant to cracking, medium size, spherical, slightly flattened, with a heel that disappears during maturation, medium weight 70-80 g, red, medium or high fleshiness; Atma – new variety, similar to the previous one, bred at the Institute of Vegetable Crops in Reguły; very fertile, resistant to cracking, they handle transport well, medium large, flattened and spherical, without heels, medium weight 80-90 g; smooth to slightly ribbed surface of the fruit, red to brick red; Amulet – variety of the type 'pelati” intended for processing; the fruit is small (40 g), elongated shape, with a slight tendency to pear-shaped, with a heel that disappears during maturation; from brick red to red; Rubin – very fertile, evenly ripening; medium-sized fruit, spherical, slightly flattened, without heels, time 80-90 g, red, perfectly colored flesh.

The mid-early varieties are: Kujawski – very fertile, with fruit well balanced in shape, evenly ripening; the fruit is quite large, spherical, slightly flattened, without heels, medium weight 85-95 g; the surface of the fruit is smooth, sometimes poorly ribbed; light green before ripening, light red to red when fully mature, perfectly colored flesh; Unita – fertile, it yields well even in worse conditions; medium-sized fruit, medium fleshy, red; Just – fertile, it bears fruit well in worse conditions; medium-sized fruit, prone to cracking, red; Venture – strongly growing, very fertile, not very demanding as to the position. Medium-sized fruit, squamous, smooth, ceg-lastoczerwony, with low tendency to cracking; Grand – fertile; big fruit, meaty, tasty, of equal size, red; Morden – yellow-orange fruit, spherical, slightly flattened, with visible ribs at the socket, at the top a large cork-body track; large fruit, fleshy, tasty; Kirys – the latest in this group, red, fruit aligned, good for preserves.

There are seven tall varieties to choose from: Earliest Open Air – fertile, suitable for cultivation on light soils, sensitive to fungal diseases; large fruit, flat, more or less ribbed, fleshy, very tasty, prone to cracking; the first fruit is mostly fused and deformed; Krakow Early-Early, fertile, evenly ripening; quite large fruit, flat-hock-spherical, with distinct ribs, uniformly colored, red, fleshy, tasty; The scarlet ball – medium early, exceptionally fertile, with a high dry matter content (about 6%), useful for processing; medium-sized fruit, spherical, slightly flattened, smooth, intense red, the scarlet color of the interior; Earliest – medium early to medium late, one of the most prolific stake varieties, reliable in cultivation, undemanding to the position, resistant to diseases and adverse weather conditions; medium-sized fruit, spherical, slightly flattened, voids in the chambers, red with a green heel; Tum – medium early, fertile, resistant to diseases and unfavorable weather conditions (especially for drought); medium-sized fruit, spherical, with a distinct tip at the apex, very hard and not cracking, intensely red; Rhineland fame – will meet, reliable for growing next to stakes for autumn harvesting; very fertile, resistant to diseases and to worse soil and weather conditions; plants with vigorous growth; small or medium fruit, maturing slowly, hard, it breaks little, red; Kora – new variety, the earliest of the high-growing ones; large fruit, smooth, almost spherical, fleshy, not cracking, very tasty, red.
